UN Secretary General Addresses Students in Moscow

On March 18, 2010 the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon payed a visit to Russia’s main school of diplomacy -- Moscow State Institute of International Relations, commonly known as MGIMO-University -- to address its students and the United Nations Association of Russia activists on the global agenda. The lecture was scheduled for Ban Ki Moon in the interim of those events that had brought him to Moscow, such as the “Quartet” of the Middle Eastern peace process mediators gathering and meetings with Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev and Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov.

On November 2, 2009 the UN Association of Russia, jointly with UNESCO department and Student Union of MGIMO, organized a lecture of the UN Foundation Chairman, American businessman and philantropist Ted Turner.
UN Day 2009: Time for Dialogue!

On October 24, 2009 world community celebrated UN's birthday: 64 years ago Charter of this new international organisation entered into force and opened the new page of international relations history. The United Nations Association of Russia jointly with Moscow State Institute for International Relations (University) traditionally uses the UN Day celebrations to inform society on the UN achievements and Russian role in it. The main goal is to enhance the contribution of our country into the implementation of the goals, declared in the UN Charter.
